We are young American Indian scholars. We must vigorously search within ourselves for the strength to silence the distractions and obstacles in our lives. Knowledge is precious. To gain perspective on the events and experiences our ancestors endured, we seek sacred wisdom. We will honor our families, our people, and ourselves by seeking harmony, respect, honesty, humility, courage, and generosity. We accept the challenge of inspiring hope for the future.
SENIORS: There are scholarship application forms in the Future Center in folders by month the application is due. Check the MONEY FOR COLLEGE and APPLYING FOR COLLEGE BOARDS. See Ms. Rocha, Mr. Lassos, or links on right side of this wiki for COLLEGE PLANNING, SCHOLARSHIPS, and more!
The purpose of the Indian Education Focus Program is to promote high school graduation, enhance academic achievement, and nurture the success of American Indian students. This is accomplished by the provision of direct services, referrals, culturally appropriate curriculum development, training, networking, and coordinating services within Denver Public Services, the Denver metro area, and the American Indian Community. The Indian Education staff is available to assist students, parents, and teachers. In my role as an American Indian Resource Specialist, I will be collaborating with counselors, teachers, parents, and community to assist American Indian students as a mentor in academics, cultural, and social aspects. I will be monitoring studentacademic progress and communicating with parents/guardians to ensure success. Please contact me anytime.
